Starr Hill Brewery was born in a music hall in Charlottesville in 1999 and founded out of a passion for great beer and live music. Headquartered in Crozet and with satellite brewpubs in Richmond, Charlottesville, Roanoke, and Lynchburg, Starr Hill is the largest independent craft brewery in Virginia.

Project Overview:

I created and executed content strategy to elevate the Starr Hill Brewery brand and their world class beer — on grocery store shelves, at live music venues, festivals, events, and through the retail experience in their brewpubs. Crafting all written content for brand, web, social, blog, calendar of events, and e-newsletters, I ensured our digital presence told a story that was saturated with flavor and grounded in quintessential Virginian pastimes that bring people together.

Interview with the Brewer

Timmy Green's first day at Starr Hill followed shortly after the brewery’s move from the Music Hall on Charlottesville’s Main Street to the mountains of Crozet, VA. This month, the production team will brew their 10,000th batch in honor of Timmy's decaversary. We sat down with the seasoned brewer to talk music, memories, maturation, and — of course — beer.
